Depending on the jail, we will ask to have you brought up and we will be able to interview you and let you know exactly what is going on. At most jails, bondsmen have the ability to visit anytime. We will then post your bail so that you can be released.
California Bail Bond Process
Bail is used to guarantee the appearance of a criminal defendant in court. Our licensed bail agents (bail bondsmen) are always on call to answer your questions and get you the information you need.
After The Arrest
When an individual is arrested, generally they will be taken to a local law enforcement office for booking, prior to incarceration in a station or county jail. During the arrest and booking process, bail will be set. After they have been booked, the defendant will have several options for release.
Release may be on a citation, or an individual may be released on their own recognizance, which is their own promise to appear in court. They may post the total bail in cash directly with the jail, or in some cases they can post real property directly with the court. Or a person may be released on a Security Bond (BAIL BOND) by calling 1-800-542-BAIL(2245).
What Is A Bail Bond?
A bail bond is a contract between the court, the bail bondsman, and the indemnitor securing the release of the accused person called the defendant.
The indemnitor is the person signing the contract for the release of the defendant; he is also called the co-signer. The bail bondsman guarantees to the court that the accused, when released on bail, will be present for each and every court appearance required by the court.
The indemnitor guarantees to the bondsman that the defendant will go to court for every court appearance. Bail is designed to guarantee the appearance of the defendant in court at the time the judge directs, whether it's 1 time, 10 times, or more. A bail bond is valid for one year.
